I’m a hygienist in Tennessee. The dentist I work for is wanting to purchase the same air polisher that’s in your video. However I did not see any stain on your patient’s teeth. In the area that I practice, we have a lot of patients with moderate to heavy tobacco stain. We even have some patients with the red Indian tobacco stain. I was curious to see if the air polish that you showed in your video would help with this type of stain. Thanks
Hi Bridgette,
The air polisher will remove most stain, but not all. Some stain requires more pressure than this air polisher (or any air polisher) can provide. In those cases, only an ultrasonic scaler (or hand scaling) can remove it. This air polisher is so inexpensive, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.
I want to get this complete set up. Exactly what air polisher do u have? That link takes me to a handpiece. Do I only need the isolite mouthpieces along with the kona adapter? Is that still the air powder u prefer?
Hi Heidi,
Here’s the air polisher I use: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dental-Hygiene-Prophy-Jet-Air-Polisher-System-Tooth-Polishing-Handpiece-4-Hole-/320887906644?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab668e154
You’ll need the Kona Adapter 2.0, the Tube Kit, and Isolite mouthpieces.
This is the powder I current use: http://parkell.com/Products/418/Parkell-Polishing-Powder—5-Pack
