The mechanic’s teeth were green!

Based on a true story

The Midas mechanic walked into the waiting area, looked at me and called out my name.  With that familiar look on his face, he said, “I have a few things to show you”.

He laid out his findings.  My battery terminals were corroded and needed cleaning.  The main belt had a crack in it.  And the air filter was filthy.  He then dove straight into his sales pitch.  “…Routine maintenance today will help you avoid major problems tomorrow…”.  Blah, blah, blah…  I agreed, but unfortunately, I only heard about 10% of what he actually said.  I was too hyper focused, and somewhat hypnotized, on something else—his teeth.

His teeth were a dark yellow color with tints of black, brown and even a little green.  His gums were fire engine red and puffy.  The tarter on his teeth was so thick that it looked like the barnacle buildup you find on boats.  As I stared at his teeth, my own sales pitch came to mind and it sounded vaguely familiar, “Routine dental “maintenance” today will help you avoid major dental problems tomorrow…blah, blah, blah”.

Did I say anything to the guy?  No.  It wasn’t the time or place to ask him about his dental history.  But I will ask YOU…

Are you overdue for dental “maintenance”?  If so, pick up the phone and make a dental appointment today.  I’m sure your dentist will be happy to see you even if your teeth are green.
