The Burnett Power Tip is a magnetostrictive (25K and 30K) scaler tip that is powerful, long and relatively thin. It is the best overall tip I have ever used. If you forced me to use only one tip for every patient, it would be this one.

– Powerful
– Great access

– Long lasting
CONs
– Could be a little less powerful at the lowest power setting (I use the Parkell Integra ultrasonic scaler), but I’m probably being a little picky here. The low setting is pretty gentle.
– Not as “ergonomic” when compared to something like a Hu-Friedy Swivel tip, but again I’m being picky.

Powerful and rugged
This tip is almost 2 years old and has been used quite a bit. They are definitely long lasting.
Long and relatively thin tip, but still very powerful. Good access.
Attached to my Parkell Integra magnetostrictive scaler. Another workhorse.
All photos show the 25K version, but Parkell also offers a 30K version.

I love this tip too! As a hygienist at a busy office with two other hygienists these are the tips we fight over and I would definitely love to win one!

Yes I have. Theoretically, it adds comfort, but personally my fingers never touch the actual insert. I use the Parkell Integra scaler.
