As a practical joke, I sent the text message pictured below to my boss on Thursday morning. I didn’t expect the response I received. He was very understanding and compassionate. I was expecting something more like, “Really?” or “Huh?” or “Ok” or “Are you messing with me bro?” We do have two chickens (and 1 large dog and 3 cats) that we consider part of the family, but they are perfectly healthy, no heart problems. Would your boss be this compassionate and understanding if you had a sick chicken?

Our two chickens. The chicken on the left is a Turken breed (nothing to do with turkeys), so her neck is supposed to look like that.

Sounds like you have a great employer! Truly something to be grateful for. If only all employers treated their employees with such caring concern.
Your chickens are cute. 🙂
I love having chickens. It’s fun to just sit back and watch them walk around.
