Intro
I just starting using MadUltrasonic 25k magnetostrictive inserts and they have become my new favorite insert! They’re even better than my old favorite, the Parkell Burnett Power Tip. The company sells many variations, but currently I only have the universal insert, the straight perio insert, and the triple-bend universal insert (my favorite). In this video, I summarize my initial thoughts about the product and then provide a short demo at the end.

Any updates on the longevity of this insert? compare with your favorite burnett power tip. Thanks

Nothing comes close to the longevity of the Parkell Burnett Power tip : ). With that said, the longevity of the MadUltrasonic tips have been decent. My instruments get pretty abused by the assistants and I’ve found that these tips get bent a little easier than others. Also, my wife (also a hygienist) had an issue with two MadUltrasonic perio tips breaking after little use. But I have a feeling she was using too much power. Overall, I like these tips and will continue to use them. They are more comfortable for the patient (compared to the Parkell). I hope that helps.
