  1. Thanks Mark! I appreciate your blog with all your reviews and good info.!!
I definitely want to try this system as it looks like it is really helpful and user friendly!

  2. Looks really cool. I work in a federal prison camp on many ladies who have not had dental care in years. I could really get a lot of use out of this.

    • Rene,

Are you a hygienist? I’m looking for a hygienist who works in a prison to interview on my podcast. If you’re interested let me know.

      Mark

  3. Was there any significant difference between the DS mouthpieces (eg: medium) and the Isodry mouthpieces (eg: medium or medium DV), as far as being able to work around the last mandibular teeth (#17 or 31)?
    Thanks for the great info!

    • Not significant. The Isolite mouthpieces wraps around the last molars a little bit better, but again, not a significant difference. Both mouthpieces work very well.

      • Thanks for providing such useful info, Mark! What a good job you’ve done!
I’d also like to try these out if I get a chance to.

  4. I really need to use these on some of most difficult patients; but my budget is so limited right now…
Thank you for the chance to win!

  5. I’ve used this device before years ago as a Dental Assistant… as a current Dental Hygienist I feel that it would be a great asset to my Dental Hygiene career!!!

  6. I am so excited to see this! I am a student in my first year of Hygiene and the last time you had a giveaway like this, I don’t think that I was very familiar with this product. However, we were just introduced to this system at the beginning of the quarter and everyone was blown away by the DryShield. I would love to have this for patient care. Happy Hygiene to whoever is lucky enough to receive this wonderful prize and thank you Mark for all of the great videos that you post.

  7. WOW! I would definitely like to add the Kona Adapter to my arsenal! It is multi purpose, with the suction, isolation, and bite block all in one!

  8. These look like a great help! Everyone has those patients that drive you crazy with the water! Would love to try one.

  9. This is an awesome product . I have used in other offices . Can’t wait to have one in my own office one day
I love the safety part where the tongue is away from the working Field and there is not fatigue for the patient to keep the jaw open

  10. Looks great!

Regarding infection control, if you are using the tube, what do you do?

I would assume that you are autoclaving the metal kona adaptor mouthpiece after each patient, and doing the tube every so often?

Where do you keep the tube in the surgery when it is not used? I would assume it would be best to keep it close at hand so you can grab it whenever you need it. Do you hang it up? If so, it would have to be so that the tube ends would be upright.

I was thinking it might be easiest to have 2 clips that could attach to the tubes where the suction is. We could put a barrier bag over both ends. Then, we could just use it asap.

    Thoughts?

    • Paul,

Ideally, you would autoclave the kona adapter after every use and autoclave the tube kit once per week. I personally flush both parts with water and then disinfect between patients and then autoclave everything once per week. I store the whole system in a rolling cart drawer by itself (cheap wal-mart plastic rolling drawer). My power scaler sits on top of the cart, so it’s always close by

  11. Love your blog!! I am subscribed!! It’s very cool that you’re giving away useful products! BTW the adapter is so awesome!!! Is it really bad to say I hope I win the giveaway? I can’t convince my Dr to get me one!

  12. This is an awesome invention! As a hygienist who works in a heavy periodontally involved population I think this would be so beneficial to have for patient comfort during SRP’s!

  13. Wow this would be amazing to have! I always struggle with the saliva ejector placement and then having to stop every two seconds to let the pt close. SRP would be a breeze with this!!

  14. New follower and subscriber to the blog! I’m a hygienist in Florida at a pedo office and would love love to win this. I’d probably use this every other patient!

  15. I am a hygienist at the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas. I work as a part time contract hygienist. I came from private practice and so it was an adjustment to work more as a public health hygienist.

  16. Would love to try one of there in my clinic. In Honduras 99% of dentistry is done single handed and we have no dedicated hygienist programs, when I am doing a deep scale on a patient I need to be an octopus….

What would be the shipping cost to Honduras.
